We are an independent news source dedicated to providing insightful news coverage and meaningful feature articles to the students of Southern Utah University. Our student-produced organization was founded because we want to ensure that there is more than one voice in campus media. For that reason, we are willing to accept opinion articles from members of the student body, as well as the community.
Whether you're on the left, right, or somewhere in between, we want to hear from you! To encourage an open dialogue, Thunderground is free from outside censorship. We will publish articles on any topic as long as the piece is coherent and contains factual information.
If you would like to submit an article, send an email to us with the following:
We will edit all submitted content before publication so that it is understandable and complies with AP Style. We will give you the opportunity to review the piece before it is published online.
Opinion pieces written by those employed by other news organizations will not be published, unless the Editor-in-Chief sees fit to grant an exception, because those people have their own forums to express their views. In addition, pieces written to critique Thunderground are intended for review, not publication.
Comments for all articles are moderated by the Editor-in-Chief of Thunderground. This helps us keep spam comments from taking away from the discussion. A comment will be published as long as it doesn't do one or more of the following:
